Pictomic Insider – May 2025
Spring has arrived, and so have exciting developments at Pictomic! From upcoming software features to new hardware announcements, here's everything you need to know in our May edition.
🚀 Visere Captura 4.0 – Coming Soon
Hot on the heels of Version 3.0, our team is deep into development for Visere Captura 4.0. This next release focuses heavily on improving the editing experience and stability.
Cancel Long Running Editing Processes: You’ll be able to cancel long-running processes mid-operation—no more force-closing the app just to interrupt a long processing task. This long-awaited addition will streamline your workflow and save time.
Improved Thumbnails Row Management: The upcoming version introduces an improved thumbnail row management interface. You’ll now have a clear, holistic view of all available thumbnail rows—eliminating the need to flip through them one by one without context. Managing your image sets just got easier and more intuitive.
📷 Camera SDK Updates & macOS 15.x Notice
We continue to update and expand support for the latest camera SDKs. However, please note: Nikon and Sony have not yet released official SDKs supporting macOS 15.x (Sequoia).
We’ll integrate full support as soon as the official SDKs become available.
🧽 Background Removal Pro – Now with Manual Tools
Have you tried our powerful Background Removal Pro? It’s more than automatic background removal—new manual tools are on the way!
These new tools will include a brush-like, edge-aware editor for fine-tuning the results. Selectively add or remove areas with more control, especially useful for complex backgrounds or product details.
🔬 Macro Focusing Rail – Initial Release & Kickstarter
We’ve officially launched our Automated Macro Focusing Rail Slider—the perfect companion for precise macro imaging and focus stacking workflows.
Even more exciting: we’re preparing a Kickstarter campaign to take it to the next level. Stay tuned for full details in our June newsletter!
