Important: Access Beta and Release auto-built Versions of Visere Captura. Beta versions of Visere Captura are pre-release builds. While we strive to keep them stable, beta software may contain bugs or incomplete features. Install beta versions only if you are comfortable testing pre-release software.
1. What Is a Beta Version?
Beta versions of Visere Captura are nightly or regularly built releases that have not yet completed final quality assurance testing. These versions are provided so users can test upcoming features and improvements before they are released to the general public.
2. Before You Begin
- You should be comfortable installing software manually.
- An active Visere Captura license is required to run the latest beta versions.
3. Downloading a Beta or Release Version
Step 1: Open the Visere Captura Autobuilds Depot
Using your web browser, navigate to the Visere Captura Autobuilds Depot. This repository contains all beta and release builds maintained by Pictomic.
Step 2: Select a Beta or Release Major.Minor Version
Beta builds are organized by version number with minor versions of 1 (for example, 1.1, 2.1, 3.1, ...). Release builds are organized with minor versions of 0 (for example, 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, ...). For example, version of 1.1 is the beta version for the release of 2.0. Click the folder corresponding to the major.minor version you want to download.

Step 3: Download the Correct Installer

Select the installer that matches your operating system:

Windows:
.exe.tgz -
macOS:
.dmg.tgz
4. Extracting and Installing the Beta or Release
macOS
- Double-click the downloaded
.dmg.tgzfile. - macOS will automatically extract the
.dmg. - Open the
.dmgand install Visere Captura normally.
Windows
- Install a file extraction utility such as WinRAR.
- Extract the downloaded
.exe.tgzfile. - Run the extracted
.exeinstaller.
5. Release Notes
Some beta builds include Release Notes (once installed) outlining recent fixes, improvements, or known issues. Reviewing these notes can help you understand which fixes or features the beta version addresses. Released versions have their own Release Notes web page.
6. Running the Beta or Release Version
Running the most recent beta version of Visere Captura requires an active license file.
- If your license is active, you can run the latest beta builds.
- If your license has expired, you can only run versions of Visere Captura released before your license expiration date.
