Important: How to manually Install BR Pro on slow connections. We’ve had reports that some users experience network timeout issues during BR Pro installation. The BR Pro filter is large (over 1.1 GB), and slower or unstable connections may time out before the download completes.
1. What You’re Trying to Fix
If BR Pro (Background Removal Pro) fails to install in Visere Captura, the issue is often a network timeout while downloading the filter package.
- BR Pro is a large download (over 1.1 GB).
- Some networks/browsers may time out before the download completes.
- The fix is to manually download the filter, unzip it, and place it in the correct settings location.
Tip: Most modern browsers can resume a large download after a connection drop, so you usually won’t need to restart from the beginning.
2. Step 1: Manually Download BRPro.zip
- Go to: Download BackgroundRemovalPro
- Click the Mac or Win version (matching your OS).
- Download BRPro.zip.
3. Step 2: Resume a Failed Download (Retry)
If the BRPro.zip download fails and you’re using Mozilla Firefox or another modern browser:
- Open your browser’s Downloads list.
- Locate the failed BRPro.zip download.
- Click the Retry icon.
Note: In most cases, the download will continue from where it left off. Keep retrying until the entire file downloads. Typically, retrying once or twice is enough.
After the download completes, unzipBRPro.zip.
4. Step 3: Unzip and Copy to the Settings Folder
Copy the unzipped filter to the Visere Captura settings files location in this folder:
../DMMD/VisereCaptura

The final location will be:
Mac: /Users/<UserName>/Library/Application Support/DMMD/VisereCaptura/BRPro


5. Step 4: Restart Visere Captura
- Close Visere Captura if it is running.
- Launch Visere Captura again.
Tip: A full restart ensures Visere Captura re-scans the settings folder and detects the newly added BR Pro files.
6. Verify BR Pro Access
If you have an active maintenance agreement or are in the evaluation period of Visere Captura, you should now be able to access the BR Pro filter.
