Visere Captura supports tethered shooting for select Sony Alpha cameras via Sony’s official SDK. This guide walks you through verifying support, configuring your camera, and installing the required USB driver.
1. Check Compatibility
Before connecting, confirm your Sony model is supported:
- Use your camera's name to search for the sensor model:

2. Enable the Sony Plugin
- Open Visere Captura (v1.1+)
- Click Gear Icon → About
- Choose Enable/Disable Plugins

- Enable the checkbox for Sony Plugin

3. Configure Your Sony Camera
- Set PC Remote → On under
Connect to PC (/SBC) - Set PC Remote Connect Method → USB
- Ensure image format is set to JPG
4. Connect and Verify in Windows
- Use a USB 3.0 cable to connect the camera to your PC
- Open Device Manager and verify the camera appears under Portable Devices
5. Install libusbK Driver
- Download libusbK 3.0.7.0
- Run the installer and follow the prompts
- After install, your camera should show under libusbK Devices
6. Relaunch Visere Captura
Close and reopen Visere Captura. Your Sony camera should now be recognized for tethered capture.
Troubleshooting
- Camera not detected? Check the USB mode and plugin version
- Wrong device list? Ensure libusbK installed successfully
- Still no connection? Confirm your model is on the Sony SDK list
