Visere Captura’s Focus Stacking tool lets you capture a sequence of images at precise focal distances and merge them into one fully focused image. Ideal for macro, jewelry, and deep-focus product photography.
1. Confirm Software Version
Focus stacking support was improved in Visere Captura v1.1.36291 (October 14, 2024). To avoid issues, ensure the following:
- You are using Visere Captura v1.1.36291 or later
- Enable
Keep live view on after capturefrom Live View settings (click the three vertical dots)
- Use only the Focus Stacking controller to adjust focal position—not the Camera Control panel
2. Enter Focus Stacking Mode
- Enable Live View
- Right-click the Snap button, select Focus Stacking
- Note: On dual monitors, right-click menus may not appear. Disable one monitor if needed
- Click the 3-dot icon next to the Focus Stack button to access settings
Do not adjust focus in the Camera Control panel once Focus Stack mode is active. All focus changes must be made inside the Focus Stack plugin.
3. Define Focus Range
- With Live View enabled, open both the Camera Control and Focus Stack panels
- Use Live View Zoom (5X) to focus on the front of the subject
- Click Set Focus Start Point
- Using the left or right arrows adjust focus until the rear of the object is in focus, then click Set Focus End Point
4. Set Frame Count
Choose how many frames to capture in the stack. Typical values:
- 3–5 frames for macro lenses with shallow depth of field
- More frames if using higher magnification or longer product depth
This setting is saved for future stacks until adjusted again.
5. Pro Tips
- Rail system support: Automated Macro Rail Slider
- Save time: Set Start/End points once and reuse them
